This Christmas was the 5th year of running The Howe Trust Hamper Campaign – how time flies!
Every year this important initiative helps some of the most vulnerable families in our community, by providing the ingredients for a Christmas Day meal.
But this is only made possible by the assistance of many amazing people within our community. So we’d like to send our thanks to everyone who generously made a financial donation. This includes many individual donors from the village, as well as village organisations and several local Parish Councils.
We also couldn’t do it without the wonderful local people who give their time every December 23rd. We have a lovely team who help with the preparations and organisation on the day, as well as the many volunteers who make all of the hamper deliveries to the families. This year the deliveries included a few more far flung locations too – so we’d like to give specials thanks for the 3 or 4 drivers who literally went the extra mile!
This initiative really does make a difference. And many of the recipient families have written to us to pass on their appreciation – and express what it means to them and their children.
“To The Howe Team – thank you for your kindness”
“…..we have never had a Christmas dinner before as a family and I am looking forward to cooking it. Thank you again for such a thoughtful offer. We are grateful to have been included.”
“Please pass on my thanks to everyone collecting for, and delivering the hampers.”
Thanks again to everyone who helped made this initiative possible this year – and a Happy and Healthy Year to all!
